Line Cook | Prep

SUMMARY

Whether you're plating a masterpiece or orchestrating the ingredient prep station, you breathe life into every dish, ensuring each plate is a harmonious blend of flavor and presentation. Your tasks extend beyond mere food prep. They involve maintaining our hallmark Silk standards of sanitation, ensuring that every corner of our kitchen remains pristine and every dish that leaves it is perfect.

We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen, brings creative energy to the line, and takes pride in executing dishes with precision and care. Communication is your forte.

JOB DUTIES

  • Ensures the preparation station and the kitchen are set up and stocked

  • Prepares simple components of each dish on the menu according to our menu and chef’s standards

  • Reports to the executive chef and follows their instructions thoroughly and completely

  • Makes sure food preparation and storage areas meet health and safety standards

  • Cleans prep areas and takes care of leftovers

  • Stock inventory and supplies

  • Cooks menu items with the support of the kitchen staff

JOB REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification

  • Associate’s degree in Culinary or Baking and Pastry Arts (required); bachelor’s degree (preferred)

  • A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role

  • In-depth knowledge of restaurant best practices and cooking methods

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Aptitude for multi-tasking

  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds repetitively per shift

  • Must be able to work cooperatively and efficiently in a team

  • Must be outgoing, pleasant, and have the desire to provide an upscale and unforgettable experience to all guests

COMPENSATION

  • Full-time, 36hr/week schedule

  • $18-22/hour, depending on experience
