Master of Elixirs | Lead Bartender
SUMMARY
Embark on a journey of elevated mixology with Silk as our Master of Elixirs | Lead Bartender, the guiding force behind our bar program and a leadership presence on the floor.
As the steward of the bar, you are responsible for maintaining the highest standards of quality, consistency, and hospitality behind the bar while supporting the overall front-of-house experience. Beyond crafting exceptional cocktails, you lead the bar team in executing Silk’s beverage program with precision, creativity, and professionalism.
The Master of Elixirs serves as a bridge between the front-of-house team and management, ensuring smooth service operations and clear communication across departments. In the absence of the General Manager, this role provides on-the-floor leadership by assisting servers, supporting service flow, and helping resolve guest needs to maintain the elevated experience Silk is known for.

JOB DUTIES
Leads the bar team in executing Silk’s cocktail program with consistency, efficiency, and precision
Oversees day-to-day bar operations including preparation, service execution, and closing procedures
Ensures all cocktails are prepared according to Silk’s established recipes, presentation standards, and quality expectations
Maintains complete knowledge of all cocktail recipes, wine selections, beer offerings, and food menu items
Develops seasonal cocktails, specialty features, and new beverage concepts that align with Silk’s brand and menu direction
Provides leadership, direction, and support to bartenders and front-of-house staff during service
Oversees front-of-house service operations in the absence of the General Manager to ensure smooth and efficient service
Acts as a leadership presence on the floor by assisting servers, supporting service flow, and addressing guest needs when they arise
Assists with guest recovery when service issues occur and works to ensure a positive guest experience
Ensures efficient, clear, and consistent communication between the bar, wait staff, kitchen, and management team
Ensures all guest orders have been entered through the POS system prior to filling the order
Maintains bar inventory including spirits, mixers, garnishes, and glassware while communicating product needs to management
Ensures proper product rotation and maintains organization of all bar storage areas
Is conscious of waste. Cuts fruit and opens mixers and other perishable items only as needed
Maintains par levels and ensures the bar is properly stocked for each shift
Cleans, sanitizes, and maintains all bar tools, equipment, and service areas
Sets up and breaks down the bar according to established guidelines with consideration of the following shift
Provides beverage education and cocktail knowledge to servers and other front-of-house staff
Stays current with bar trends and industry developments
Maintains and polished and professional appearance
Maintains respectful and cooperative working relationships with all staff members
Presents a positive and supportive image of the company
Communicates all significant operational matters to the General Manager and assists in implementing corrective action when necessary
Side duties include cleaning, stocking, and maintaining all aspects of the bar as well as additional responsibilities assigned by management
JOB REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Must have 3+ years of experience in the hospitality industry, including experience in bartending and a similar leadership role
Must possess strong knowledge of spirits, cocktails, wine, and beverage service standards
Must demonstrate leadership ability and the capacity to guide and support front-of-house staff
Must be outgoing, professional, and capable of delivering an upscale guest experience
Must have strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with both front-of-house and back-of-house teams
Must be detail-oriented with a strong focus on consistency, quality, and presentation
Must be able to effectively manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
Must be willing to learn and share knowledge with other staff members
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
Must be a team player and willing to work in a collaborative environment
Must obtain Alcohol Safety Certification within 90 days of employment
COMPENSATION
$15-20/hour, depending on experience
