SUMMARY
The host of any restaurant is the guardian of first impressions! Your role is to welcome each traveler with warmth and grace, becoming their first touchpoint to the allure of Silk. Note that your domain is not limited to our entranceβyou are a guide and a problem solver that sets the tone for our guests, both in person and over the phone.
JOB DUTIES
Greets guests within 30 seconds as they enter, and puts them on a waiting list as necessary
Provides guests with menus and answers any initial questions
Seats guests at tables or in waiting areas
Assigns guests to tables they prefer, while keeping table rotation in mind so that servers receive the right number of guests
Engages with guests to ensure they are happy with food and service
Responds to complaints and helps to resolve them
Answers phone calls, takes reservations, and answers questions
Has working knowledge of the menu
Helps out with other positions in the restaurant as needed
Provides great customer service
Keeps host station clean and up to a working standard, consistent with the protocol of the restaurant
JOB REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must be at least 18 years old to be considered for this position.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Must be outgoing, pleasant, and have the desire to provide an upscale and unforgettable experience to all guests
Must demonstrate an ability to work well under pressure with all staff members
Must perform high-quality work while unsupervised
Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
Must be able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food when necessary
Must be willing to follow instructions and ask questions for clarification if needed
Must be able to handle money accurately and operate a point-of-sale system
Must be able to work in a busy restaurant environment
Restaurant experience is a plus

$15.50/hour
